Bushfire safety on the South Coast – have your say!
Having a bushfire evacuation plan is something all of us need – especially considering the recent bushfires many of us living on the South Coast experienced during the summer of 2019/20.
For people living with disability the need is often greater, with carers, support networks and emergency personal all working together to ensure the safety of individuals living with disability in emergency situations.
The Flagstaff Group, together with the support of Resilience NSW, is proud to launch EMBER, a project designed to motivate individuals to think about their own safety, how to develop a safety plan, identify who to contact and what to take in emergency situations. The project will also offer tools for emergency personnel to help communicate with non-verbal individuals during an emergency.
Flagstaff would like to hear from participants, carers, support networks and emergency personnel on how we can make the region safer. Online Zoom workshops will be available to attend throughout October.
