The Role:

The Flagstaff Group is a large Illawarra & Shoalhaven based employer with extensive business operations including materials recycling, food packaging & distribution, digital and off-set printing and a commercial laundry, we are seeking to immediately appoint a new Work Health & Safety Officer to join our People & Culture Team.

Our “for purpose” business divisions vary from paper and cardboard recycling, commercial laundry, snap frozen meals, packing and assembly and printing. All have the aim of providing jobs and life skills for people living with disability.

Key Objectives

  • Provide a rapid and effective response to reported workplace and non-work-related injuries
  • Develop and implement and oversee Return to Work (RTW) Plans.

We are seeking

  • An enthusiastic team player with a keen eye for detail and a passion for Health and Safety;
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with all Stakeholders within the businesses;
  • Formal qualification (Cert IV or higher) in Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) and demonstrated recent experience in effectively undertaking a key & direct safety role in the work place;
  • Recent experience, confidently and efficiently using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Current unrestricted driver’s licence;
