School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES)

Have you thought about next steps when you leave school? What do you think you’ll want to do? Take a look at our School Leaver Employment Supports Program.

School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES)

Designed for high-school students leaving school aged 17 and above

We tailor this program for school leavers by creating a plan to identify and remove barriers to sustainable employment and eventually transition you into Open Employment.

Designed for current or recent school leavers, SLES (previously Transition To Work/TTW) runs for up to two years for a minimum of 3 days per week for 48 weeks. As a leading social enterprise with 7 diverse commercial businesses, we give you targeted on the job training and hands-on work experience in productive businesses in your chosen industries. This develops transferable skills and provides qualifications needed to gain and maintain mainstream employment at the conclusion of your program.

Throughout the program, we give you valuable assistance and support to develop a strong work ethic and an in-depth understanding of the skills required for mainstream work. The relevant training and work experience you receive will help you achieve your goals, including:

  • Finding a job,
  • Getting vocational skills and recognised qualifications,
  • Enjoying a work ethic allowing you to easily transition to a job and
  • Work in a secure supportive learning environment.
