Calling the Illawarra Community to Support our Disability Service Providers at the Save our NDIS National Day of Action Rally

The NDIS was built to support Australians with disabilities for generations to come. It should be a great Australian social and economic reform we can all be proud of, but right now the NDIS is at a crossroads. People’s plans are being cut. Support is being cut.

It’s not good enough and that’s why the Illawarra Disability Alliance members are calling on the Illawarra community to help us defend our NDIS.

Every Australian Counts and Teamwork Works are partnering with the Illawarra Disability Alliance to bring their national campaign to the Illawarra on Thursday 28 April 2022, commencing at 10.30am.

We are calling for:

  • Proper Planning – so people with disability have the resources they need to build the right support team for them.
  • Fair and Independent Pricing – so providers can deliver the services people with disability need.
  • Genuine Partnership – a real commitment from the Federal Government to work with participants and providers to build a scheme that delivers long-term support.

There are more than 500,000 Australians already on the NDIS and 270,000 workers employed to support them. Together with our families, friends and supporters we are a powerful force, a united movement that can’t be ignored.
