The purpose of the Marketing and Projects Trainee is to assist the marketing team implement a number of projects that will increase brand awareness, marketing, project management of grants, events, , fundraising activities and partnering with local businesses within the community.

In this role you will work alongside the Executive Manager of Marketing and Communications to implement a number of projects and events, increase disability awareness, assist with Flagstaff’s fundraising strategy organise events, and learn more about marketing tactics.

Focussed on ensuring the integrity of the Flagstaff brand is always maintained, you will be supporting the Executive and other internal stakeholders to develop and deliver projects that will highlight Flagstaff’s services, develop new programs, increase sale enquiries and customer activities. You will be required to attend tradeshows, events, help update websites and general project and marketing initiatives.

We are looking for an ideas person. Someone who wants to learn new skills and not afraid to try new things out, research and get involved.

From design work, to content development, photography, videography to projects and events. No two days are the same and you need to feel confident to multi task.

About You:

  • Able to meet all Trainee obligations under the Trainee agreement, including the ability to complete to a Cert III or Cert IV in marketing or project management as part of the traineeship;
  • Demonstrated sound level of computer skills particularly in Microsoft Office suite of programs (specifically Word, Excel & Outlook);
  • Experience in planning a project, and developing it from concept to evaluation;
  • Demonstrated strong planning, time management and prioritising skills;
  • Ability to work after hours to attend events and with different starting at finishing at different times and which may include weekends and/or public holidays;
  • Confident in speaking in public;
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence (note that preferred applicants for the role may be requested to provide evidence of their driving record);


  • Experience interacting with a Person with a Disability (socially or professionally)
  • Knowledge in marketing and social media management;
  • Can demonstrate strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
