Flagstaff Supports RSPCA With Cupcakes!
Capture

The Flagstaff Group are proud to support the RSCPA by raising funds for Cupcake Day. This RSPCA event is an opportunity to raise funds and awareness to help rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home animals in need across Australia.

The Flagstaff Group’s School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) team are a group of high school leavers who are participating in Flagstaff’s Life Choice’s program, where activities are tailored to break down barriers associated with disability to achieve the goal of employment.

RSCPA Cupcake Day was nominated by the SLES team as a project where they have the opportunity to learn and develop skills that are required in obtaining open employment including; money handling, budgeting, cooking, communication, social, hygiene, numeracy and literacy skills, all whilst assisting a great cause! Local café, 4M Espresso (located in Unanderra) has also been kind enough to assist the SLES team with baking cupcakes for this wonderful cause.

The RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is a community charity that works to prevent cruelty to animals by promoting attentive care and protection. The RSPCA operate care and adoption facilities for abandoned, surrendered, and injured animals within our community. Cupcake Day will raise much needed funds for this organisation to continue running their 40 shelters across Australia and helping animals in need.

Flagstaff’s SLES team sold cupcakes on Thursday 17th August and raised a total of $368.80 including online donations!!

The SLES team will visit the RSPCA Illawarra shelter on Tuesday 29th August for an official hand-over of the raised funds, as well as meet some of the animals and staff they have helped with their efforts.
