Flagstaff Open Day – Unanderra site Friday 8th November, 2019
Local not-for-profit disability enterprise, The Flagstaff Group, will be holding a free Open Day on Friday, 8 November 2019 for local businesses and the community. As Flagstaff continues to expand, local businesses and families are welcomed to their site at 254 Nolan Street Unanderra from 10 am-12 noon to learn more about Flagstaff's services, products, and support of local people living with a disability.
As one of the Shoalhaven and Illawarra’s most prolific disability service organisations, employing over 260 people with disabilities, Flagstaff has proudly brought award-winning products and services to local businesses and families since 1966.
Attendees can expect to hear and see The Flagstaff Groups’ ongoing initiatives, including visiting the printery, commercial laundry and recycling plant. Take a glimpse behind the scenes in the Fine Foods area and meet some of Flagstaff's supported employees.
These services proudly embody Flagstaff's values-based culture that has seen the enterprise win numerous awards throughout 2019, including the October Illawarra Business Awards for Excellence in Business Inclusion and Social Enterprise. In August, Flagstaff was awarded the Shoalhaven Business Awards for Excellence in Community Service and Social Enterprise.
Chief Executive Officer, Roy Rogers — “Everyone is welcome to join the tour of Flagstaff on Friday, 8 November 2019, see what we do behind the scenes and meet the team. Whether you are a local business, a carer, a person with a disability or just a member of the public who wants to learn more, this is a great opportunity to see first-hand what a disability enterprise does and what we achieve on a shoe string budget.”
Through employment opportunities and support programs, Flagstaff continues it's mission of building a world that only sees ability.
