Fair Work Commission Update
The Flagstaff Group has spent the past two weeks at the Fair Work Commission Hearing for the Wage Tool case.
During this time a number of the Fair Work Commission judges were able to visit Australian Disability Enterprises including Flagstaff, Greenacres, Endeavour, and Disability Services Australia to see first-hand our supported employees at work and everything we do.
During the case we have expressed our concern about the potential for significant job losses that may result from a change in Wage Tool. We have also presented evidence on the social and economic impact that a change in Wage Tool, increased wages, and a loss of jobs may have.
A number of our supported employees, families, and staff attended the Fair Work Commission in Sydney to hear the opening submissions and demonstrate their support.
Evidence and closing submissions have been presented, and are now being considered by the Fair Work Commission. We’re confident in the effort that has been put in to our case and the evidence that was presented, and we now await the Fair Work Commission’s decision. We’ll continue to keep you up to date as outcomes are announced. The Flagstaff Group would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support during the hearing and the entire duration of this dispute.
